It wasn't favouritism - she was the only one who could hit the low notes loud enough to be heard. Ask Dennis; he heard all the auditions. Kiera would have been my first choice for sure if the part was higher, but of all the girls who auditioned, everyone else was too quiet in the low range for the Penny bit.
