Give a Cat an Enema?!

Not me!

Maddie cat, my Little Beetlebug, has been constipated for weeks.  He saw the vet a few weeks ago when he started showing signs of discomfort and nothing I did helped.  So he got an exam and meds to take to soften his stool.  They worked at first, but after a while he started refusing them.  And he was still showing signs of discomfort, ( Read more... )

Was this the same nap-session that has your other cat resting on your husband's chest?

I love these cat biographies - they're wonderful. Can you do more on your other kitties?

I hope Maddie's problem gets ironed out (so to speak). Constipation is no fun.

Hee-Hee! You noticed! You know, I don't think this was the same nap session. It's not uncommon for kitties to lounge on DH when he naps.

Nobody ever said they like cat biographies before; that's really nice to hear! I had planned on doing one for each of our furbabies just so I could post photos of them (as if I need an excuse).

Maddie's not much better today except that he's happy to be home. Yesterday I took him outside on leash for the very first time. He thoroughly enjoyed being able to dig as many holes in the flower beds as I'd allow. But as much as he strained he couldn't produce anything.

I am so sorry, poor kitty, this must be so miserable! I can't imagine! I hope the doctor will be able to get it under control and relieve Maddie's pain.

Thanks, Katie. He's been home now since Friday afternoon and still wanders from litter box to litter box straining with no results. At least he's happy to be home, and he's drinking lots. I'm going to call the vet tomorrow with an update and see what she wants to do next.
