Recently, after hearing about Geoguessr in various places, I decided to try my hand at it. If you haven't heard about it, it's an Internet-based game that makes use of Google Street View; the five-round game places you in an unknown location, and you have to look around the environment and figure out where you are.

Fun game. I had a round of about 21,000 points, but the last one was basically a throwaway because it dropped me in the middle of a completely unmarked dirt road. It had shown me Australia a couple of times and the dirt was reddish, so I just tried that - turned out it was Texas!

Australia seems to be the go-to choice for "middle of nowhere" locales. Sometimes you do just need to take a stab in the dark.
