Reminds me of an exchange from "Happy Birthday, Dear Hogan":

LeBeau: Why did you have to suggest giving him an ammo dump? Why couldn't you give him what I suggested?
Newkirk: When's the last time you saw a full colonel take a bubble bath?
Carter: Well, that doesn't mean he wouldn't want to.

Good for Rodney! John just does have a tendency to see "rest" as an enforced pause, but what he really needs is Ruhe--peace. (Great foreshadowing of "Broken Ties," too!)

Thank you! I tried to make both those ideas come into play!

And funny you should mention that Hogan's Heroes exchange -- that actually was what prompted this! I stumbled across that quote and....well. *Grins*

I love the interaction between Rodney and John. Teyla and Ronan confused on what Rodney is doing.

All in all, a wonderful fic with some awesome humorous bits. :D You know which ones I mean. ;)

It's nice to see the lightheartedness of your Atlantis fics again. *grins* I think the most we readers have to worry about is the soap bubbles 'impaling' John's skin as he soaks. :D

wonderful, just wonderful, I loved the scene...Rodney's finger trailed down the baby's spine as he left...what a perfect image this was. The fic is a delight!

Thank you so much! Every male friend I've had at church, when Amanda was a baby, would pass by me and touch her spine almost as a benediction when they'd leave. I couldn't resist having Rodney do the same.
