That's kind of nice!

My name has no family origins. Although, when I pointed it out, my mom rebutted by pointing out that my grandmother's names were Verna and Mozelle. I shut up after that :)

Hee. :)

My family, especially Mom's branch, has more than its fair share of odd names. Both my 2nd-great-grandmother and 3rd-great-grandmother mentioned above were named Weltha; and in addition to Talitha, my 2nd-great-grandmother had a sister named Vida and brothers named George Bird, Frank Ethelbert, and Pearl. There were also a few other sibs with less outlandish names. And that's just looking at my direct female line and their siblings. Grandpa's family also has some interesting ones.

I think in Italian culture, this is really prevalent. It is tradition to name your son after his paternal grandfather, so there are a lot of repeats.

For the girls in our family, there are a lot of instances of "Marie." Just the last few generations:

Great Grandma- Rose
Grandma- Marie
Mom- Rosemarie Gina
Me- Ginamarie
Daughter- Olivia Marie

We haven't carried on some of the other family names that came up a lot (Francis, Vincent, Santa), but Salvatore comes up a lot too.
