Good Flea Markets/Antique Shows?

Apr 21, 2011 14:31

Anybody know about any near-ish Albany? Say... no more than a three hour drive? Auctions would be cool, too.

I already know about the Brooklyn Flea, and Brimfield.

I've been to Brimfield, but have not yet been to the Brooklyn Flea.

The flea market in Wilmington, Vt. runs May-October, all weekends. Free parking, free admission. Has been running for decades, so people definitely show up! And if you want to vend, I recall that the vendor prices are pretty reasonable, too, and you don't have to commit to a whole season. Patrick and I have actually talked about that, sometime, after we build up stock.

As for auctions, Patrick's and my favorite area auction house may be closer to you than it is to us: Meissner's, in New Lebanon, N.Y. They're at http://www.meissnersauction.com/ if you want to give them a look. They do general antique auctions most weeks, and a number of specialty auctions.

Either of those sounds like fun.
