Lyrics: Blessings

A few Sundays ago, in big church, one of the soloists sang this song.  At the time, I loved the tune and I loved what words I could understand (I'm not very good at hearing words while they're being sung), so I came home and looked up the lyrics...and the lyrics were even better!  Then I noticed that a YouTube video of this song was being shared by ( Read more... )

That's funny--several months ago a soloist sang this at my church and I posted the video in my LJ. :)

Funny! I remember you posting that video...but I had totally forgotten about it when I heard it at church so didn't recognize it. Well, you all have good taste! I thoroughly enjoyed the song. Mikayla did a good job. :-)

I agree--when I came home and heard the real singer, I was a bit disappointed by it. :P I like Mikayla's voice.

She's Reformed, btw. :) She wrote that song while her husband was dealing with cancer. She's been part of Indelible Grace for a long time, and goes to Scotty Smith's church in Nashville.

Ah, that makes sense....what a beautiful and biblical response to a trial like that!

The video Tessa posted yesterday had this song in it! I had heard it somewhere else before too. It's so good!

Lovely.

I have a friend who is dying slowly, and it is so hard to think of him suffering. It's such a terrible situation, and it breaks my heart. I don't understand how his condition can be deemed a blessing or a mercy, but I do have faith that God is good, and I will understand someday.

Yeah, that's definitely the attitude to have though it's so...helpless feeling, isn't it? HOW can God possibly use something so agonizing for His good? And it makes me impatient to please "hurry up and show meeee!" :-P ::hugs:: I'm sorry you're seeing your friend suffer in such a way--that's really tough, I know.
