Please forgive a lurker's cutting in to this conversation, Jenny--I had an idea. You could possibly dye your white voile with a weak dyebath of brown or yellow (or both), like you did for your chemise gown, to get that 'cream' colour you want. Then you could save your money for things to decorate that fabulous hat! :-D

I know all about not wanting to wear "this old thing" to a second event, but I so loved the green pink combo and it fits the ice cream theme so well!
