i make up songs about stealing pants too.
My favorite is sung to the tune of "safety dance" by men without hats
"I can steal your pants if I want to...:"
"I can show the world your behind..."
"If your friends dont steal pants then their no friends of mine..."

I can't listen to a lot of stuff that I associate with exes either.
I think though we should declare a moratorium. "Take back the music day" -- where you can take back and reclaim all the old shit and erase the memories you don't want to associate with it and enjoy the stuff like it's fresh again. Of course some of that music I'd want to leave behind, I'm sure other people would want to leave it behind too. heh.

for me all music gets embedded with the major and minor actions of my life. so everything reminds me of something or another , unless i have never heard it. some music reminds me of driving around, some reminds me of a certain person. its the music that reminds you of people you once loved that kills though. cause even though those feelings are long gone they are embedded in the texture of the music/song and they revive for the duration of it.
