*nod* I am sad, too, and there have been truly fantastic people I've walked away from because they simply did not have room in their lives for me, but I'm a happier, healthier person for it.

I haven't had that sort of thing happen, most of my experiences have been of benign neglect or lack of guts to tell me they don't really like me.

I'm often a bit sad when I realize a friendship has had its day, but I'm better than I used to be about accepting that people sometimes grow apart.
I've also had relationships that were more take (from them) than give, and they're exhausting.
