So there is some discussion on Fark as to wether or not this is the Cloverfield monster. If that's true, then it seems to me that JJ Abrams is just ripping off the monster from the Host on a slightly more Cthulian level. And honestly, I don't think that would surprise me in the least.

I'm looking forward to this flick, I wonder if the monster will have it's own brand of followers, dancing naked and foaming at the mouth.

I dunno, I'm not terribly convinced yet. I don't trust JJ Abrams to do much outside of lure people in with the promise of action and monsters and then hit them upside the head with a tire iron and steal their wallets...

I actually like it, I think it's a neat idea. I'm also kind of glad it wasn't that other supposed leak that turned out to be a hoax. I'm also thinking this may just be it because a lot of the viral info alludes to huge whales and that online fan contest they're claiming this drawing actually came from seems quite iffy. I signed up for the JJ Abrams messageboards to see the other "entries" and didn't find anything so they may have just tried to retcon the leak.

It is a neat idea, but it's just way too similar to the Host for my personal liking. And it's not terribly menacing.

Granted, it's probably a hoax or fan art or something.
