I read a great interview with Josh Radnor while sitting in the doctor’s office the other day. I wasn’t so much interested in Radnor (star of How I Met Your Mother), as I was in what he had to say about Los Angeles. Turns out, he loves it for a lot of the same reasons I do.

“It’s this blank canvas, and it reflects you back at you.”

Some days I live in the LA comprised of traffic, searing heat, and broken dreams. Those are less fun days. :-D

Oh, I like that a lot.

The LA I grew up in consisted of streets where plumbers and clerks and contractors and day laborers and office workers lived. Not freaks, but just regular people doing regular things. But then, a block away, was the movie studio. They made the original King Kong there, and Star Trek, and I Love Lucy, and it was no less real than the street I lived on.

I miss LA so much sometimes. Not just visiting, but living there.

Except for the traffic. You can keep that!
