It shouldn't be this hard. I'm trying to find three different (admittedly, somewhat specialty) items, but cannot find them anywhere. And no, even if Amazon has them, I don't want to spend half again as much in shipping ( Read more... )

Would baking parchment do?

It's wide, white and pretty good at sitting still.

I'll keep an eye out for doll stands when I go to the hobby shop.
How tall?

Hm. I didn't even think about baking parchment. It would probably have worked, but I've just finished putting the craft paper down. (I'd even thought about using brown kraft paper, but it would have been too dark.)

As far as the doll, she's about 4inches tall. I did say she was tiny -- she's a souvenir doll from when Lori & Beth (our across-the-street friends) went off to Africa on mission with their parents when I was 9. They may not even make doll stands that small, but since I can't even find "standard" size stands around here, I have no way of knowing.

Thanks for the offer, but I asked J to print me one. :) I figured it would be quicker -- it took five hours from query to finished object, and we went to a concert in the middle.

I've seen plain metal measuring cups at BB&B. Maybe GFS. Come to SEMGS next weekend and check.

The BB&B I was at only had the fancy ones -- which are fine, I guess, but I don't like them because they're too heavy. I haven't gotten to GFS yet, largely because I forgot about it until I was nearly home. I'll check next week when I'm in town.

I have the same grumble about liner paper. They simply don't make liner PAPER anymore that I can tell. We had to settle for other materials.
