Okay....back from HR.....she said the only thing she can really do is contact my manager and get clarification as to why I was denied transfer. Because from what I was told, and then told the HR lady, I should not be denied that transfer. This makes me nervous for the obvious reason, but the alternative is that nothing gets done. Sending you lots of positive thoughts for your work situation. I know what it is like to work with those kinds of people. It's incredibly stressful. I hope you can get your transfer.

Why is it that management everywhere feels the need to go all power trippy and make their employees lives miserable? I so sympathize with you in that...

I'm thinking that because Harley dosen't do layoffs...ever....no matter how slow we get...they're trying desperately to get people to quit.

Wow, they never do layoffs at all? That seems to not make much business sense. Not that being laid off is preferable, but still. It seems devious to try to get people to quit like that.

yeah, they figure it's more cost effective to pay people during the really slow season then to train all new people during the really busy season.
