The world here is intriguing; it sounds like there's a lot going on, maybe that Agatha isn't aware of. :)

Poor Agatha. This was quite interesting. Is it part of a larger story? I'd love to read more about them all.

I'm actually thinking of expanding this universe into a longer story (maybe novella). I originally wrote like 2500 words because I got so into the story and it wasn't done but I knew I needed to pick like 1500 words of it to submit so I focused on reworking the beginning into a stand alone story. I have a few ideas of where I want things to go.

The other family wasn't in my original version but I needed something mysterious for the end and that just came out. The whole story took on a life of its own.
