lots of random icons

Mar 23, 2012 10:29

I'm bored.  Should be working on a fic that's due tonight but... I'm watching Lilo & Stitch instead (with my 6yo and 1yo) and updating my icons.  So here's a post with a bunch of icons I've made over the last...whenever.  Most are from oneill_icontest but there are others from various challenges all over LJ.  And some I made just because.

What filters are you using? I love the colors on them. I'm curious about your favorite features etc (I use Photoshop, not sure if that's what you're using too)

For which ones?

I use Photoshop Elements (I have 7 at the moment). I have two plugins I use most of the time and just started using textures and stuff (thanks to a challenge at a comm).

This is one I use a lot to do coloring: http://www.redpawmedia.com/processfx.html

And this one: http://www.optikvervelabs.com/virtualphotographer.asp I use for a ton of effects.

Those are the two I use on almost every icon I make. Then I use some other techniques I've picked up doing scrapbooking. And now with textures that I either make or download.

*sigh* Yeah, I had a favorite too buuuuut...I'm on a Mac. I wish I knew where to find some really great plug ins for a Mac :P I know they're out there, but I've struggled with finding them. I have Elements 9 - so I've been having to fake my way through icon making, but it hasn't been as much fun without my nifty filters (my PC is craptacular - slow, can't handle graphics and a screen the size of a postage stamp) - Guh.

Maybe you can go to the Adobe site and ask around. Or a message board for Mac and Elements users. I'm sure someone out there knows which plug-ins work for a Mac.
