Sam watched him as he slept. She had tried to rouse him, but found she could not, and as worried as she was, he was too heavy for her to move on her own without help. If the trip to the 'gate were shorter, she might have considered dragging him, but instead she radioed Teal'c and Daniel and recalled them. Daniel wasn't to happy about having to leave the graveyard with only half the stones recorded ("Without the full data set, I really can't draw any valid conclusions about the population here, Sam! I won't be able to tell what might have happened to them!") but as soon as he heard about Jack's condition, he agreed that the data could wait ( ... )

With every yard of the trail to the 'gate, Jack's tread grew lighter and more brisk, and it wasn't long before Sam and Daniel were falling behind. At the giant oak which had marked the last bend before the stargate would be in sight, he noticed how far behind him they were, and hastened his steps back to where they were. They were both a little pale. And warm. Jack decided to say nothing, as there seemed to be little he could do for them. The stargate was nearby. Soon they would be home to the SGC, and its ministering angel, Janet. This was Sam and Daniel receiving the treatment, after all, he approved of the Doc fussing over themThey got to the DHD. Teal'c dialed, Jack asked for a medical team in full protective gear, and the two well members each took a grip on one of the sick, Jack grasping Carter's left arm firmly in his right hand, and Teal'c flinging Daniel's right arm over his own broad shoulder, and sliding a supportive left arm about Daniel's waist ( ... )

haha, yes, he does seem to feel that way. He'd do anything to get himself out of the infirmary but insists Daniel and Sam stay as long as Janet wants them.

Aww, poor Pizzigali and Murtaugh... now they'll be all paranoid, lol.

I've been lacking in the shippy department lately. For some reason even when I wasn't trying my stories were coming out more gen. Needed much Sam/Jack goodness.

i really enjoyed both the original story and the comment fic! It made me melt with happy S/J goodness and then double over laughing. Both were just what I needed after this long, crazy day in this long, crazy week. you guys rock!
