Please forgive this little rant

I love podfic. I am so greatful that people take the time to go out and record these amazing stories. That being said...why, pray tell, would one decide to record a ten hour podfic when one mumbles AND has a speech impediment? Because, no matter how good the fic is, that is simply impossible to listen to.

In college I tried once to read textbooks on tape for the blind before deciding I wasn't doing anyone any favors. After that I learned to type braille.

I speak slowly, I'm slightly dyslexic, and I stutter when I'm tired enough. On the other hand, I got pretty good at the braille typer--six keys and a spacebar, rather cool. I was typing index cards for what other people were reading.

LOLOLOL ... I recently tried my hand at podfic as there are very few Naruto fic coming out that actually pronounce the Japanese words correctly. Thought I was doing the fandom a favor. ;) Listened to my first 10 minutes, decided to be a cheerleader for writers, beta and reccer instead.

Thought it was just me ...
