I wonder if I could extrapolate, follow that James, able to counter Beckett's influence, able to act as an ally for Gov. Swann, as Turner finds his father and Sparrow challenges Davy Jones, and make up one of those towering multi-arc epic AUs ending in the British Navy under the command of Commodore Norrington and the Pearl, under the command of the Pirate King Sparrow (Elizabeth having cast her/SaoFeng's vote for him, you see) capturing Beckett's Endeavour between them.
