Must read books

Alright so I was talking to Vicky again today about books that everyone's got to read at some point in their life and decided to make a list. *whimpers and paws at* feminist lil me checks pride & prej as her favourite classic. Ever. When you get right down to it, Elizabeth is actually a very in control and sure of what she wants kinda woman. She won't accept what her family (aka her wench of a mother) wants for her. Its rather liberating. On the other hand, in Persuasion, you want to kick the little snot Anne for letting the man she wanted get away because she was following daddy's wishes until the bitter end. Grr.

True, but then again the whole setting of the story makes me want to claw my eyes out. Especially since the author herself was influenced by the rampant sexism going on at her time. So "feminist" thoughts of that time period aren't very feminist at all in today's world. It just upsets me to think that it was like that at one point in our not so glorious history. ^^

By the way, who are you? Rofl, sorry but K doesn't tell me much!
