The things they say

We stopped at Whataburger for dinner tonight while we waited for the pharmacy to fill my prescriptions. Before we even got out of the car, a couple in their 50s and a young boy about 8 or so were crossing the parking lot. The man had on a tank top and shorts, was well tanned, had a hairy back and shoulders, sandy blonde hair, old man glasses and a ( Read more... )

I am totally addicted to Whataburger's onion rings. I could make a whole meal out of about five large orders of onion rings and a medium chocolate malt. :)

Well, come on down and have a meal with us! We usually go once a week because it's close and relatively inexpensive and gives me a break from cooking.

It must be so hard to accept that we won't ever get to see someone again. *sigh* I don't know how I will deal with it myself when the time comes. :(

Mack seems to be having more issues with it recently. When I had Missy the Dalmatian put down, he seemed to accept that she was going to be with Pa, and we wouldn't see them until many, many, many years down the road when we pass on. Suddenly within the past month, he's certain that Pa is still alive. I wonder if he has dreams about Pa, too.

My dad died in early 2001. For years, I would look closely at men who resembled him. I still find myself doing it sometimes. I so wish that I could have seen him before he died.

I was actually very close to my father, despite him being a drunk. I was the one that found him, so I feel like I had closure. The dreams where he comes back though, sheesh! They can be pretty weird.

I don't normally look for father in strangers' faces. The only reason I even looked at this guy was because Mack said something. This is the first time he's said anything in almost a year and a half.

It was really hard, but I think the recent eye infections have blocked my tear ducts.

Seriously though, the tears welled up; I just held them back.
