I have been a sister for twenty-*cough* years now. Happy birthday to my sister and best friend, mandymcbliss!

I took her to one of the last hockey games of the season as her birthday gift. Sadly, our beloved Aeros lost that game, but there were some good fights and bad calls by the refs.

Your post brought back a fantastic memory for me! I used to go to the Aeros games a lot, even had three different hockey jerseys. But my all time favorite game was watching them win the IHL title in game seven against the Wolves in 1999 (or maybe it was 2000, my memory is a bit fuzzy). It was one of the most rousing, adrenaline fueled frenzies I have ever been at. I still have a jersey, but haven't been to a game in three years (last game I went to was when the Toyota Center was brand spanking new).

My son is five, and I am thinking of taking him (baseball is waaaaayyyy to boring).

Mack wasn't all that interested by hockey. So while I can save on tickets (I get the $7 student ones), I still fork over money for a babysitter when I go. The really sad thing is, they wouldn't sell me a student ticket for Mack because he didn't have a student ID. HellOOOoo! He's seven! If he's not a student, then what is he? So I asked his school to give me a letter of enrollment, just in case he ever decides he does want to go to a hockey game.

(Quesada sucks. Just thought I would throw that in there.)

Since you guys are so close to me (DP/LP area), maybe we can plan a trip to a game next season. Mack may be more interested if there is another kid with us (even if he is 2 years younger) exhibiting interest in the game. Plus there's the whole "I have someone close to my age to talk to" factor.

Stephen is almost six, so they should get along okay. Just let me know when the next season starts up and we can go. I still have one jersey left!
