I've been so focused on the new energy of the BBC!Sherlock-verse and this is just a breath of fresh and familiar air.

The "please". Oh you got me at the please, a terrible wheezing prayer.

So beautiful! *sniffles*

Oh, thank you - that's very kind! One of the fun things about the SH fandom, I think, is that there are so many different adaptations to work with.

Glad this little piece pleased ;)

This was marvelous. I love that you touched on the thing that will probably always make movie!Holmes my favorite: that vulnerability in Holmes underneath all of the brains and the work, etc. I also like how understated Watson's reaction is - just right!

Thank you - glad you enjoyed it! I love canon-based fic as well, but I do have a soft spot for '09 movieverse Holmes... as you say, there's a very human vulnerability about him, particularly where Watson is concerned.

I blame RDJ and his puppy dog eyes, personally ;)

"He reels backward, off-balance, as Holmes scrabbles in the dirt for his revolver with the unshakeable certainty that what had been a simple round of fisticuffs is about to become something worse."

I absolutely loved that!

Really lovely, with a sparing economy of expression that does nothing at all to stint description or prevent, even for a syllable, the incredible tensions--of the knife and of Holmes' heart here.

Bravo!
