WTF Shows?!
So, I have been falling behind in a few shows, and since last week was pretty light on the homework front, Friday was a school holiday (yay!) and the woman I volunteer with is sick today, I've been taking a bit of time to catch up. But a few of my shows have very much pissed me off!
Beware of definite spoilers and sorry if its not horribly coherent, as this has been building for about a week because I wanted to put it all in one post:
So, I have this theory that shows do their damnedest to kill off my favourite characters. And recently, two have proven me right, and one came pretty frigging close!
I was a bit skeptical about Dollhouse when it first started last year, but I decided to give it a chance because it's Joss. And Joss is made of awesome. And Dollhouse grew on me, and then got pretty kick ass in Season 2. Especially Topher!Victor. Because that was just too hilarious. But the last two episodes, and then Epitaph 2, really tore at my heartstrings. I totally didn't see evil!Boyd and evil!Saunders coming! I'm happy that Tony and Priya made it, especially after finding out that they had a son. New Alpha was a lot of fun, but they never explain how he got to be amusing-crazy instead of psycho-killer-crazy. And then he just disappears. Disappointing. And's Paul's death was just so sudden! But Topher was my abolsolute favourite character, so I was sad to see Bennett go, because she was awesome and seeing Topher all lovey-dovey was great. And then Topher goes crazy while being held captive by Harding, but still manages to be a genius and save the day. But he dies! As seems to be the trend.
hjea, I know you thought the end of Season 2 of Robin Hood was bad, but you ain't seen nothing yet! I broke and watched Season 3, most of which I enjoyed (except that Robin's wife, the love of his life, just died and he's already got two new love interests, and they were both a wee bit annoying) I was happy to see Tuck finally introduced, and was just starting to forgive them for the whole Marian thing, when the cock-up that is the last two episodes happened. I mean, seriously! I always loved Guy and Allan and then they both die. And so does the Sheriff, who was awesome. And fine, I'm not happy about most of those, but it's your show, do what you will. But how the fuck can you kill Robin Hood and still expect to have a show? No wonder there's not going to be a Season 4! Did they really expect to be picked up for another season and have Archer (Robin's long-lost brother - I know, I rolled my eyes too) just take over?
Okay, so Legend of the Seeker's temporary addition wasn't my favourite character, but I did really like Leo. And he and Cara were so cute together! What with him all trying to worm his way into her affections and her all trying to maintain her gruff, I-am-a-badass exterior. It was adorable. So he had to die. Of course. *rolls eyes again*
