Has anyone used a Mason Pearson brush before? How does it perform on Asian hair?

have u checked out the china comb shop at china town? they also sell in taka dept store i think, quite good... dun think they have brushes but i've been using their combs for years and that's all i would use; it's made from good wood so no static. some of my friends have become converts too

I'm looking for a brush, not a comb...but still, thanks for offering alternatives, I'll keep that shop in mind when I need a comb, sounds good!

What did you actually want the brush to achieve?

The last time I came across this brush, peple bought it to fluff their dogs. Of course, later on the Chris christensen brushes came to our shoes, and instead of mason pearson, they all converted to using CCS brush for their own hair.

I had a CCS gold pin brush left from the shop, i must say it did brush up preety OK. :p

Basically groom, smooth and add shine.

Waaaah, people use MP to fluff their dogs ah...*hangs head in shame*

What is CCS? I'm suaku to the world of brushing.

chris christensen systems :)

normal pin brush will do. the MP brush is overrated :) In our humidity, what it basically does is make for more static (think fluff) and also make the ends fray (think those like fuzzy hair ends)

Thank you for your feedback, I think I'll give MP a miss...doesn't sound like MP is right for Asian hair from all the feedback so far.

L1sh recommends the CCS but I've never seen or tried it personally.

I have it and like it quite a lot. The one I have is the medium sized one I think; can't remember. It gives shine and distributes oil evenly, so you get the second day unwashed hair look - the one where your hair looks good! ;) The only thing that is lacking in mine is the fact that the bristles don't all/always reach the scalp (my hair is rather thick).

Mine doesn't smell, by the way and the bristles feel very comfy on the scalp. It really does give instant shine which is why I am so pleased with it especially with my new unrebonded hair growing out. :)
