Long time, no update

Sounds like a really great career move and a fun time rolled into one. And yes, you'll miss Dinah but you know that she's warm, safe and loved.

I can hear cars slipping and sliding from my window, some people have no sense in good weather - let alone bad.

People are so stupid sometimes. Fortunately, though, traffic wasn't as heavy as usual because a lot of people stayed home.

The trip does sound like a great experience. It's the kind of thing a senior course developer should do. And I've never actually been outside of Michigan for more than a couple of weeks, so that will be new.

This sounds like a wonderful opportunity. I'm glad your boss took your request seriously, not all do.

I've got a pretty good boss. There aren't a lot of people in our group, so we don't tend to get lost in the shuffle. Other things my boss has done in recent months: told his boss that our success in getting our project done early was due largely to my efforts; bought me and my other direct co-worker a Bath and Body Works gift card (on top of our standard office gift swap) because he thinks our company doesn't give us year-end prezzies and he thinks they should.

I think he's swell!

Thanks! Right now, I'm just crazy. I think excited comes later. I was told that the project that was supposed to keep me busy until 6:00 wouldn't have any work to do, after all, but then a couple of hours later, there suddenly was work to do. Our office is a bit insane right now. (Major software release.)

Thanks! Considering how uncertain everything is in Michigan right now, this kind of experience is very good for me. (I just wish I knew people in SLC.)
