Mix: Poor Wayfaring Stranger, for fantasybigbang

Nov 12, 2010 20:33

So I decided to participate in some fandom this month and signed up for fantasybigbang, since they were asking for mixes as well as stories and art. I can do mixes! So here you go, a mix for the original story Cactus Blues, by iamdemandred.

Boiled in Lead - All the Little Horses
Way down yonder, down in the meadow,
There's a poor wee little lamby.
The bees and the butterflies pickin' at its eyes,
The poor wee thing cryin' mammy

White Ghost Shivers - Mama Said (Lily)
Mama said play it straight do what you like only do it up right
take your time don't run wild
Mama said son you're my one man child

Gillian Welch - Orphan Girl (John)
I have no mother, no father
No sister, no brother
I am an orphan girl

John Gorka - Mean Streak (Karen Bragg)
Love and money
Almost the same
The less you make
The more you're to blame

Bruce Cockburn - All Our Dark Tomorrows
All sane people, die now
Be lifted up and carried away
Youve got no home in this world of sorrows

Bruce Springsteen - Your Own Worst Enemy (E.W.)
There's a face you know
Staring back from the shop window
The condition you're in
Now you just can't get out of this skin

Regina Spektor - Lacrimosa (the clucks)
If my garden would have a fence
Then the rabbits couldn't just come in
And sit on the grass and eat all the flowers
And shit

Iron & Wine - Free Until They Cut Me Down (E.W.)
When the men take me to the devil tree
I will be free and shining like before

K.T. Tunstall - Hold On (John/Karen)
I was tired of January
I was tired of June
I felt a change a-comin'

Aztec Two-Step - Almost Apocalypse (John)
He asked me what I was running from
I pointed toward the street
Oh, no, a thousand marching feet

Emmylou Harris - Wayfaring Stranger (John)
I'm just a poor wayfaring stranger
A-traveling through, this world of woe.
Yet there's no sickness, toil nor danger
In that bright land, to which I go.

Diana Jones - Something Crossed Over (Thorpe)
Wasn't thinking much particular then
Not where I was going, not where I had been
And something crossed over, over in me

Robert Plant - Funny In My Mind (John)
Well now look over yonder to that burying ground
Look over younger to that burying
It sure seems lonesome lawd when the sun goes down

Josh Ritter - Harrisburg
Some say that man is the root of all evil
Others say God's a drunkard for pain
Me I believe that the Garden of Eden
Was burned to make way for a train
