This was a good starter fic. Not having quotations around dialogue was annoying, but I like Charlie's thoughts and Don's gentleness.

I like the idea of Charlie waiting up for Don, and Don accepting it without comment. Also, that LA was not necessarily safe, but it was home and close to Charlie.
