Knitting Frustrations

I decided to tackle a more advanced project and knit something for myself, so I picked out a lacy wrap pattern.  Turns out it was a little too challenging.  I got about 5 inches done before I decided to "frog" (rip it all out) it last night.  Now, I'm looking for an easier pattern and found this one.  I'm going to try starting it today and see how ( Read more... )

Is it ok for me to say I like the "lacy wrap pattern better?" I keep seeing cute things like that and think to myself that I should learn but then I think, man, I'd have to learn.

It's fine. I like that one better, too. But, it's too hard for me to do right now and I didn't like the yarn I was using for it. I plan to go back and make it later once I have better skills and more practice with hard patterns.

It's not that hard to learn. Really, it took someone (Bri) being patient enough to basically hold my hands for the first few rows to teach me what I was doing and then be around to answer questions. I learned at Christmas last year and made a lot of progress.

Plus it's easier to take knitting places than cross stitch. :)

I should probably get Ellen to teach me then, I see her enough I think. And it would be easier to take places (and easier to do in a moving vehicle), right now I'm working on a Christmas present though. I'll have to put more thought into it.
