This post is going to seem flippant in light of things, but what exactly is anyone supposed to do? The only thing I could add, is the curiosity over something I read that the shooter came into the theatre from a side door that shouldn't have been accessable. Other than that, pretty much agree with what you said. It could of happened to any big movie opening night.

Also, the pizza car above is funny.

What I read, which makes it even less preventable, is he was verified as having BOUGHT A TICKET, then took a [fake] cellphone call and left through the emergency exit, propping it open. Though, if the exits were like most emergency exits and sounded an alarm if they were opened at ALL, I guess that would've been a fix and saved at least a couple of lives? [Granted, C's job is following up warnings such as the "exterior door open" alert that would've sounded in that case, which may have helped the police get there quickly. I don't know all the details, but they're definitely going to do an extensive investigation.]

Plus, I read something about his apartment being full of explosive and weapon stuffs, having planned this for months ahead of time.
