You are gloriously different. So many couples I know wanted very much the "production aspect" as you so appropriately called it, and the bigger the production they could afford, the better.

And yes, "because I want to" is the best reason. In a perfect world, it would be the only reason.

More and more 've been seeing the "production" part of weddings taken out. Just a small circle of family/friends, a Justice of the Peace, and a potluck of food. nd in the end it works out perfectly well.
