I hate biology--not the science, but the actual reality of our corporeal human forms. Well the idea of an emotional balance makes sense. You can't experience limitless joy, you have feel sorrow every so often to remind you of the difference. If you stay in one spectrum too long then you burn out that part of your brain and go numb, kinda like leaving a rear-projection TV on a static screen too long.

It's like reading a sad story and feeling better about yourself after reading it. Adventure is somebody else going through tough times.

I'm constantly glad I'll never have to worry about having kids myself. I really can't fathom that kind of responsibility for the rest of my life : P
