That would be terrifyfing :D Well, I haven't been by for a couple of days, how the riding of "Stella" going? My bike, "Sir Walter" (A Raleigh, coincidentally) has been getting some mileage in!

I have to admit, I haven't been riding Stella much. Here are my excuses: 1. It's been really hot (90+). As proved by my dizzy, vomitty afternoon on Sunday, I'm not good with too much sun or too much heat and I don't always know when I've gone too far. I live alone so if I got too far from home and overheated/dehydrated/passed out, I would be stuck with a capital STUCK and since Stella is bent, she doesn't really fit on a traditional bike rack. I'd have to find someone with abig car or truck to come get me and that is something my ego isn't up for

Here is the big kick "THUMP" !!!!! Of course I would love to walk Maybe we can plan a once week bike/walking trip. I do have a big truck that Stella would fit in! We can go anywhere!
Did you see Shannin's post? Shs is up for walking onthe non-coffee Saturdays.
Whatever you do, don't get discouraged! Jen needs to take care of Jen first, if ya know what I mean! I definately understand about the heat, by the way, and when you do ride for now, A) Drink LOTS of fluid! B) Don't overextend yourself, if nothing else ride in the neighborhood, and I bet that's Casper talking about having the truck? Might be wrong, but who knows! just do shorties and take it easy til the back feels a bit better. My wife has chronic pain issues with her back as well and sometimes, you just can't do it! That's not an excuse, that's a reason, I definitley understand that! Something that may help, it does with my wife, is to take either Ibuprofen (Motrin) or Naproxen (Alieve)about an hr before her ride. Just the over the counter dose. I don't know though, if you have sensitivity issues with either of these and when you are in your 10 days preop, you would need to clear these with your surgeon as well. Meantime, just stay as active as you can tolerate...no pressure from me, believe me! Well, have to run! See ya later, Jen
