3437: The Last Moment of Clarity

Mar 17, 2010 00:51

I don't know where time went, and I've had a tough time working out a proper script for this anyway, but since I'm not really the go-to person for this anyway, shorter* may be better.
*for me, anyway

For the few of you removed enough that I'm the only one you might hear this through, Mrs. Patricia Goodwin passed away Monday afternoon after several years of fighting cancer. She was a beautiful person and a gracious host to put up with twenty and thirty of us being rowdy in their home for so many years. Now she gets to be with my Gabey-Baby again.

What's ironic is I put the final proof to Lulu on Monday morning. My biggest push to finish my book was seeing Mrs. G for the last time in December and her mentioning wanting to travel the world while she still could. What held her back was worrying about Xena--to which Casey gladly offered to be a foster--but it was that holding back for something that could wait/be put on hold/otherwise accommodated. I felt, for all the things I might regret, nothing would be greater than if I didn't finish just ONE book... which isn't what I'd hoped to learn from Mrs. G, but life gives what it gives.

If you need contact info, let me know, or contact sirkain directly. Funeral services will be in Owensboro KY--not sure if there will be an additional service more local.

death, sucks, awmg
