There's not only a lot of that guy, there's a lot of guys who sound like that guy.
The anime I was thinking of when we were talking the other night is called SoulTaker or Soultaker.... it's not good from what I remember, but it is pretty.
I think of their stuff I had only seen bits of that and Macross, Outlanders, Evangelion (which for better or worse, I associate more closely with Gainax) and Lain (the look of which I associate with ABe, who I am definitely a fan of).
For studios, Gonzo is the one I always think of as being good looking but not neccessarily anything other than that.
