It's more like when people reflect on the past year, so what needs to change is brought to their attention. But people rarely change significantly.

I completely agree with the "its just a change of date" thing. Except I was just reminded of 9 years ago when I was 11 and thought that the world would be completely different when the clock struck midnight and it was 2009. I was expecting flying cars and stuff to just appear out of nowhere, and I don't really know why...

I don't feel like New Years is anything special either. The date changes everyday, so why make a big to do about one night?

I don't mind the excuse to party, it's just the resolutions that are pointless to me lol.
