I thought it was only right to do a happy ending for the last bit. Since I'd inflicted so much doom and gloom on the loyal readers.

Thank you, because the others just killed me.

Well written! Thank you.
I really liked the way you described Sherlock's reaction to the dead of John. I do especially like the picture of Sherlock wearing John's jumper.
It screams literally for ARTWORK
--> Sherlock wearing John's jumper *gg*
Unfortunately I stopped writing my essay in order to read your fic, so I have to go back to my work instead of musing over your story -.-

I would adore art of Sherlock dressed like that, but sadly, I am no artist. I am an anti-artist. So instead, we'll just have to be hopeful.

Good luck with the essay!

Oh gosh, this is great! The other endings made my heart stop and then break into tiny little pieces...because that IS how it could have happened. But this...this is perfect.

Plus, Sherlock in John's jumper is love.

Donovan's reaction to Sherlock begging Mycroft for help, and then her getting John out from the car...lovely.

In character, fast-paced action, great dialogue. You scored a hat-trick of what I love in fics. And as a bonus, you threw in a heartwarming ending.

Spotted a typo:

Mrs Hudson never added quiet the right amount of sugar for his taste

I think you mean 'quite'. Although giving Sherlock less sugar might just keep him quiet.

Oh! And I love that Mrs H put Splenda, not sugar, in Mycroft's tea. It's the little details like those that add up to equal perfection.

Thank you for writing this; loved it!

I sort of... posted before editing. ^^; I thought people might want the story up and out as fast as possible, and my usual beta won't beta for Sherlock, she doesn't like the series.

Your comment has made me all kinds of warm and fuzzy, it's the sort of feedback that is truly wonderful.

Ah, this happy ending made me warm and fuzzy, so it's only fair, right?

Thanks for posting it so quickly. It's Monday, and I read it at work, and it was a surefire way to get rid of the blues.

If you do need a beta for any Sherlock fic, feel free to hit me up. I'm not a Britpicker, although I'm particular about Britglish, and I'm a stickler for spelling and grammar.

Brit pick I'm generally okay with, my family is English even if I was born in Australia.

Typos are my big problems ^^; I type fast and poorly.

Whew! I (of course) liked that version much better than the one where John died. That was a really nice touch with the Jack of Hearts... I liked it very much. Can we assume the sniper was Moran because of the cards?

Um, guilty secret time...

I've never seen or read Sherlock Holmes before this series.

My copy of the books are coming though!

Oh trust me, you are definitely not the only one who hadn't read the ACD stories before getting into the BBC series! I'm just making my way through them (in a completely haphazard "What shall I read on Project Gutenberg today?" manner) now. We can all be guilty recent converts together...
