Very new and a big fan of Jemiah Jefferson ^_^

Forgive me, but I'm *very* new to LiveJournal so I apologize if I go on a 'fan-obsessed' mode somewhere in this post. I felt compelled to take my chances in joining LiveJournal anyway because I discovered Jemiah Jefferson posts here. O_o (After reading her first 3 books, she's a total celebrity for me so knowing she actually is *here* has made my ( Read more... )

Um... haha, Jem will probably get on here and answer a lot of this stuff herself, but as a self-appointed stalker of Ms. Jefferson and her (also self-proclaimed) biggest Texan fan, I'll verify... yus, Ricari does make a lovely appearance in 'A drop of Scarlet'... and the book is absolutely fabulous. Do yourself a favor and read it pronto.

Jemiah's personal LJ is terebi_me and she's awesome with that, so if you go there and leave a comment with your email, I'm sure she'll get to you and hook you up with an autograph!

Thanks so much for telling me Jemiah = terebi_me. I had a hunch from reading the comments here about her username, but I didn't want shoot the gun too early and make an arse of myself. ^_^ And a major *thank you* for telling me about Ricari being in "A drop of Scarlet"!

O_o Ricari! I'm coming my love!!! :D (goes on stalker mode)

Oh I definitely *will* buy that book. ^_^ I was planning on to anyway since, well, is Jemiah Jefferson for crying out loud. But now that I know Ricari makes an appearance, I'll have to take something to keep me from fainting and driving the ppl at Barnes & Nobles nuts.

Ooh, are you from Texas too??? I'm from San Antonio! :D Howdy!

Hey, thanks for dropping by (and yeah, I know how it feels - I've been in love with Orfeo Ricari since about 1990, and he writes his own stories - I just do what he tells me).

Your enthusiasm bowls me over; it's marvelously nice to hear. Anyway, you can mail me stuff to my work address (which is the most reliable) -

I love getting stuff in the mail at work. :)

I hope I haven't ruined any bits of Heroes for you - but once you've seen it, read back through my heroes_meta posts for lots of funny about them. That's been where most of my creative writing energy has been spent lately (that and fanfiction, resting comfortably in an undisclosed location). I promise I'll write more vampirey stuff both here and on my MySpace account in the future, now that the crack show is over for the season... if there are more vampire books, Orfeo will have to be in them because he's so faaaaaabulous.

Oh my! This is so wonderful! Often times i read books and wonder how cool it'd be to contact the author and tell them how inspirational they are. It's truly wonderous to see that opportunity take place with you! Seriously, thank you for taking the time to read my post (both of them, at that ( ... )

I've always wanted to be able to contact my favorite writers, so that's a very important thing for me. I don't know if my accessibility is a good thing or not, but I like it anyway... it's one of my measures of success, since it certainly isn't money. :)

Oops! One last question! dantes_pimp May 28 2007, 06:29:51 UTC
Grrr, I totally forgot to ask this last time, but in regards to that crazy bitch, Sybil... why couldn't Daniel read her mind? Wonderous Orfeo was able to, but he was strong from all his years of being a vampire, right? Was it because Daniel was so lovestruck and all, that he couldn't? And/or Sybil was just *that* manipulative and focused on narrow goals, that she really didn't have much in her mind to read?

(Yeah, Sybil *must* be Texan... ^_^)

NOOO! She's from Colorado! Honest! :) terebi_me May 28 2007, 17:38:23 UTC
Actually, no, Orfeo couldn't really read her mind, either, and once or twice Daniel was able to. Sybil is a unique specimen - she has the power to make her mind unreadable; essentially she sets up kind of a "jamming signal" that prevents the vampires from being able to detect the chemical changes in different areas of the brain, which is how they read and manipulate thoughts. When she feels safe enough, she will allow a thought or two to come out, but in general, she doesn't. She is one of those people who has been assaulted so many times in her life - emotionally and sexually - that there's almost no way she'd let anybody get close. But she and Daniel do fall in love, and she essentially destroys him to keep him with her (because she's nuts, y'see ( ... )

He's with George; that's about as psychotic as he's ever doing again. :) And of course, out of everybody, the ONLY actually sane characters there are are George, Leland, and Chicot (notice that they are also the oldest?).

Everybody else is cuckoo.

Poor Orfeo.

Oh and yeah, you'd be intimidated by Sybil if you saw her on the street - she's six feet tall and buff with a murderous glint in her eye... the bleached hair gives her a certain Roy Batty quality...

Having said the only sane characters are the oldest ones, do you picture Ricari ever reaching that "status" in the future? Or will he continue to be the loveable, hardcore Pre-Vatican II Catholic that he is? ^_^ I just love how he acts like a mother, trying to control the kids and telling them "I told you so" and "didn't you listen to a word I said?" It's evident when Ariane turns into a vampire in VOTB. Even when he saw Daniel for a last time in "Wounds" he was already giving his 'child' a lecture. He's incredible. ^_^

Roy Batty. What a hottie! *_* But yeah, I wouldn't be alone with a six foot buffed girl with the bleached if someone paid me to. When I think of Sybil, I picture Gordon Matthew Sumner (Sting) in Dune. "I'll kill you!"

O_o

BTW, I ordered my copy of Drop of Scarlet two days ago. *_* Man, I hope Barnes and Nobles gets it to me by June 3. That's my b-day and what a perfect gift to have in that day! :-D
