Oct 12, 2008 Want a husky? Sign a contractONE pet shop here has gone a step further than most others in discouraging the home breeding of puppies

i also don't understand why people would want to get huskies and dogs of that sort in singapore. that really sounds like cruel and unusual punishment for the poor doggies. they should be made to wear thick winder jackets and walk around for a day and then decide if they shld have such an animal. sorry. pet peeve. (no pun intended.)
Because typical Singaporean mentality is I want this or that and I don't care about anything else. The worst are those who make their dogs wear doggie clothes and think they look sooooooooooo cuuuuuuuuuuuute but the poor dog is actually suffering.
most people who know me know that I desperately want a cat, but not now cause I just don't have the space or time. but what is strange is that they always ask me what sort of cat I want. and i'm like.. any cat that I can get from a shelter, preferably not kitten cause they just need too much attn. But then they'll be like, oh don't you have a colour preference? and i'm like.. uh. No? dude. you're getting a companion, not furniture. it doesn't have to match your colour scheme. GRR.
Hehe, but then again it does matter to some people-not that they'll treat the pets any differently but they just have a preference, like I have a preference for jet-black cats with long swishy tails!
But of course if I came across an abandoned cat and decided to adopt it, I wouldn't care what colour it was.
Y'know, some years back when ACRES was making so much noise about 1 polar bear in the zoo, nobody gave a hoot about the many more huskies and malamutes suffering the same fate (or possibly, very much worse) in homes around Singapore. After that incident, I wrote off ACRES immediately as nothing more than a tin can beater for animal welfare.
Back to huskies, how can anyone who keep huskies here profess to be an animal lover?
As for the ST quote, I think what it meant was the strict process of selective breeding that the Sims do. Maybe because of their strict criteria for suitable sires and dames, they don't breed that many. And the bitch is allowed to rest before starting her next litter.
i think that statement means that there possibly are several sacks of ugly husky puppies and bricks in some river somewhere :(
and HEY!! I MAKE MY DOGCHILDREN WEAR CLOTHES ON CHRISTMAS AND CNY TOO!! and no, they dont look particularly sufferingish when they wear the doggie clothes for a few hours. so there. :P

Well, I suppose once in a very, very long while is not so bad, but I know people who think it's cute to do that all the time!
And for your dogs' sake I hope they aren't too thick clothes!
