not to put a downer on you...but there's a lot more than rent. you have to pay electric, water, heating/gas, cable, internet, car payments, phone bill(s), insurance...its crazy. i tried to figure out how much i'd have to make to move out on my own, and i'd have to have a real job to afford myself. a bit depressing (at least for me), but it makes you appreciate your parents a little bit more.

true, but alot of those things we wont need, or have connections with, or are already paying. and the other things are half price, because the roommate splits the cost of everything too.
