This is a companion piece to this lovely bit of writing from Chry. ( It was too late, the naga were everywhere, skittering across the Sapphire's decks in a vile swarm. The reek of them filled her nose and mouth, made her stomach churn. She couldn't move. )

And I like this just as much on my first full reading of it too. Jell's just as good for Ash as he is for her; he really would have gotten back to sleep after this. Sometimes the best way to comfort oneself is to be able to offer comfort. Or that's how it is for him anyhow.
