Hope everyone is enjoying their family today. We had stockings this morning and will be lighting candles tonight. DD1 was quite pleased with all the goodies in her stocking including play-doh, lots of chocolate, a kazoo, calipers, toothbrushes and some other stuff I can't remember. I was quite pleased with myself for getting all that stuff in

Nice low-key day here. :-) Turkey now in the oven and starting to smell good!

Mmm, yum. We had beet latkes for dinner tonight. First night of Chanukah and all:)

*blinks* Beet latkes? Never had those. Potato pancakes, yes, I even make them occasionally, but never beet.

4 medium beets
4 carrots
1 small onion
1 egg
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup flour (or more)
vegetable oil

Grate vegetables in food processor Combine vegetables, egg, salt and
flour in large bowl.

Heat oil in skillet on medium flame. With tablespoon, drop batter in
skillet, flattening with a spoon. Turn when golden, flipping until
brown and cooked through, about fifteen minutes.

Drain on paper towels. Serve with sour cream.

Sounds like you guys had a great day! Will post about ours later. Toothbrushes in plural? As in she got bunches of them? Too cute. I think Rachael would adore getting lots of toothbrushes. What is it about them that is so much fun to kids? Mine constantly want to carry their around and eat on them. heehee

The day was pretty good. DD1 is a terror. It's so annoying. I don't understand why she always needs to take her sister's toys away and also as soon as I sit down in front of the computer, she needs it urgently. This also happens if I announce that I have to pee, so at times it's to my advantage. But grrr. Anyway.

She got 2 toothbrushes:) She was very excited about them being Elmo which I find hilarious since she's never even seen TV!
