Also, has anyone used an iTouch or an iPad as a gps device in the car? One without 3/4 G, that is.  Gah. Still waffling about the GPS/tablet issue

I think your device must be connected to the internet to get GPS unless it's a standalone GPS. But I need confirmation of that, sometimes I get confused by these things. I've used a standalone GPS and a smartphone for directions, but I've never used an iTouch or iPad. We have both of those things, but we don't have 3G plans for them. I actually prefer using my smartphone over the standalone GPS because it's easier to put in the address.

yeah. This is what it seems like. Although you may be able to download maps and have that on a tablet and use that in the car.

My husband has an Ipad (LTE instead of 4G) and we used it in England as a backup for my GPS. Worked very well. He didn't download any maps, just used it even without internet near by. He says he was surprised it worked, though.

Yes, but mine would read:

went to work

watched tv for 5 hours

and that's it!!!!

Oh and messed around on laptop and drank copious amounts of coffee and walked dogs.

LOL. But you went to work. I work at home. If I didn't do anything besides watch tv, people would be very upset with me.
