We got The Half-Blood Prince on Sat morning, much to my shock. We got it from the library, so we were thrilled to be able to get it so quickly. In the past, it's taken at least a week before we got it.

For overall impressions: it read very fast, it seemed like nothing happened until the very end. I liked it better than some of the books (like ( Read more... )

Snape is not evil. The end of The Giver is happy. Any other questions?

I don't think Snape is evil either, but it's so ambiguous. And The Giver does not have a happy ending.

The way it reads to me is that Snape's behavior is intentionally ambiguous, but he is actually not evil, plus all will be revealed in the next book.

The ending of TG annoys me; it is designed to be intentionally ambiguous with no resolution but what you want it to be.

I had read some spoilers and kept waiting for the ambiguity, but I didn't see any ambiguity regarding Snape. Where is it?

I am so ready for winter, too! Why is it during winter we wish for summer and vice versa? heh. I just wish for fall... or spring. :)

I haven't read any of the books, but alas, I have watched the movies (I know, I know). Someday I will get around to reading the books. They sound neat.
