Neuron Quilt

I have been wanting to do a neuron quilt for ages and my kids' violin lessons were serendipitously canceled today, so I made an attempt! This quilt was inspired by this painting which I found on tumblr here.

I checked out the link. Very cool stuff there. :) Never thought those kind of pictures would be art, but I could certainly see it now. Nice to see something like that on Tumblr. :D

One interesting thing to me is that we knew a woman who was taking pictures of dna and rna with an electron microscope and making art with those images and we thought it was totally bizarre at the time. Now, I totally get it!
