A few things

I'm going to put this image behind a cut, but damn I'm super excited about it. I have no idea what this thing is, but I found it on tumblr here. (eta: bramble_rose says: "The photographer is Dr. Arlene Wechezak. It's Red algae Scagelia, showing reproductive tetraspores and golden diatoms.")

Gorgeous image behind cut )

Funny enough it looks a little bit like a fabric print although it's probably something in your body (?)
It's gorgeous.

bramble_rose found the answer! It's red algae cells, so plant based:)

It would make an amazing print, wouldn't it?

Found it! I recognized that those were some kind of plant cells, but had to follow some links to get an actual caption to the photo. The photographer is Dr. Arlene Wechezak. It's Red algae Scagelia, showing reproductive tetraspores and golden diatoms.

lol, fwiw I only recognize about 1/2 the words in that description *g* I've no clue what a diatom is except that it's the yellow thing in the picture :-).

Oh, isn't a diatom a little animal that lives in the ocean? When they die, their little skeletons end up in toothpaste, maybe?
