Hugo

Took DD1 to see Hugo this morning.  It's fantastic.  Asa Butterfield is amazing.  (Although I have one little nitpick and this is not his fault, at all.  He's just a wee bit too old for the part.  Hugo is 12.  Asa Butterfield is 14 1/2.  I could tell that he wasn't twelve.  His hands, FEET, and shoulders were just wrong for a 12 year old.)

So, if ( Read more... )

I heard really good things about that movie, and the 3D effects in it. My first impression without seeing it was "must be one of those movies they make from a book, where the movie doesn't live up to the book and confuses you if you haven't read the book first" (the Golden Compass comes to mind). But I'd only heard good things.

Ok. Thanks for the clarification. I don't want no h8n going on here:D

Go work. Don't reply to this. I need to walk away from the computer anyway.

It's entirely possible you didn't see the one I did. I'm seven or eight years older than you and I saw it the first year or two it was out. I never saw Capt Eo.

No worries. There was enough time between the books and the movies for me that it was fine. I thought the books were good enough to own, but I don't love them the way I love some other books. I think they weren't even published until I was in my late 20s. Man, people are making me feel old tonight.

I think they came out sometime when I was in university, but I really wasn't paying that much attention to any of the harry potter hype at the time so I can't tell you for sure. I would never have watched it if my friend hadn't dragged me out to see it, and I hadn't even considered reading it till maybe a decade after that. Watched most of the movies out of obligation but didn't really like most of them.

Ah, I guess they don't have the Eo thing in Disneyworld? Tbh I really dislike disneyland, other than disliking disney in general I really can't stand entertainment for the masses, it's kind of emotionally exhausting to spend the day at a place like that. Though I guess if you have kids you have to take them, haha.

And now I must get back to work~

princealia might know about Eo at Disneyworld. I don't think I went back to Disney after I was about 14, so it would have come out after that and I could have easily missed it.

I hate Disneyworld. I like Epcot. But I get easily overwhelmed and exhausted and don't really like the experience that much. I'd rather spend my time and money elsewhere.

Have fun working. I have to fix dinner.

Was it recently you saw that 3D attraction? Cause that sounds a lot like It's Tough To Be A Bug at Animal Kingdom *use to work in that park :D*

The one I saw didn't really have a plot, as I recall.

Would they really be playing something that was more than 25 years old?

Yes, and Disney fans will get upset if it's touched. A lot of the animatronics are over 30 years old and older.

Oh, yeah, I'm not surprised that the animatronics are old, but I wouldnt' think they'd be showing a 30 year old movie.
