I have a better idea. You come put my children to bed. I'd love that:D It would be so relaxing.:D

It would definitely be fun to meet your family as well. I know you all are high energy and have lots of fun discoveries. Getting a break from the bedtime routine is why I go dancing every Friday:D And I love my monthly quilt meetings to get out of it too.

I think we need to change some things about the evening routine. We've already changed some of the daytime things. Thanks for the reminder that these things are not resolved in one day. I just get frustrated with nighttime stuff. We get it working for a while and then it goes down the toilet because something changes (usually one of the kids can stay up later or something).

I have no idea how to get kids to go to sleep. I only know how to get kids to eat, which is to tell them a story, stop partway through, and not continue until they eat another bite, repeat. I only know that one because it worked on me when I was kid. But that's not what you asked about anyway, sorry! Haha.

We have actually found that letting DD1 read whatever she wants while she eats is a good tactic. I realize that this is "mindless" eating, but given that she's 9 1/2, weighs 52 lbs and is like 51 inches tall, I'm not that concerned. Mind you, she doesn't usually eat while reading. DH has a bad habit of eating and reading.

I actually think that's awesome, I wish I had read more as a kid. So how come you call her DD1, what's the significance of that etc?

Heh. My children do not need praise for reading.

DD1=dear daughter 1. DD2 = dear daughter 2. I can refer to them that way instead of using their very unusual real names:D
