Nothing to make you feel like a great parent than

peeling your daughter off you as she cries "only mama" at dropoff:(  Especially when there is a long line of cars and you are already running late.  I just could not let her stay home knowing that she has the next two Mondays and Tuesdays off!  My SIL is visiting and DD1 just wants to stay home and play with her.  I tried to reassure her that she ( Read more... )

Awww... but she will have fun. I think it's tough for kids when family is in town- esp since dd2 is home. My kids do the same thing when family is in town.

Our kids don't actually have the 19th off, as far as I can tell. (Mine's not in public school yet so I'll have to double-check the calendar.) But we do have an inservice day on the 26th, so they'll have that Monday off.

Just chiming in to say yeah, that's a nasty feeling. But as you know, Bob, they forget all about you as soon as they see someone/something else to play with.
