Go for a ride

Oct 14, 2008 18:26

This morning went reasonably well and DD1 got to school before the first bell (the second time since school started).  DD2 and I came home and just chilled for a while.  I cleaned up a bit, got the ingredients together for greek green beans and put them in the crockpot, and called the pediatrician because she still had a fever and I told someone I ( Read more... )

Moms never get sick days. Didn't you read your Mom Manual?

Abx is just an abbreviation of antibiotics. I figured I give her the meds when I asked the doc if I really had to do it and he basically said I really shouldn't mess around. He's not the type to prescribe stuff willynilly, so I go along with it.

DD2 loves skyping with mom. She wants mom to read to her all the time:)

Turmeric eh? Too bad I don't have any in the house. Do you think candied ginger would do the trick? What about yogurt with chocolate chips?

Yeah. She seems to be feeling better now too, so I think it was the right thing to do. Right before bed she told me she was hungry, so that's a really good sign as she hasn't eaten much for the last week!

MIL is the soft warm snuggly type. Mom, not so much. But she is good for a story "in the movie":)

Nope. We're not big curry eaters here. I'm going to go have some yogurt with chocolate chips anyway.

Aww. Poor mom!

And poor grandma, upstaged by Barney.

Well, they did chat with her a little bit after dinner. There will be plenty of time for chats later. Like, first thing tomorrow morning apparently:)

Thanks! I'm hoping it's not going to turn into pneumonia given my recent breathing problems. I'm going to have a snack and go to bed in the hopes of nipping it in the bud.

How are you doing?

Oh, ick! I hope the meds make her better soon and that you escape unscathed. And being not-hungry while sick is pretty typical, especially if she's got some goo clogging her system.

DD1 got to school before the first bell (the second time since school started)

Wait - she's been late every day otherwise? Or is the first bell just a warning?

Thanks! I think she's doing much better now, actually. I am still undecided as to whether or not the abx were necessary, but given the rapid turn around (7 hours) in her appetite, I'm thinking it's definitely helping.

DD1 has not been late. We had a near miss one day. They have until the second bell to be in their seats. And I think the clock at school is slower than mine at home (which means I stand around for five minutes waiting for school to be let out every day. D'oh!).

When I was in middle school and high school, I had my (digital) watch set EXACTLY to the school clock so I would know, down to the second, how much time I had before any given bell. Oddly enough, MiniPlu's school doesn't seem to use bells at all.
